He spent 3 years (1963-1966) in the U.S. Army in Germany with an Honorable discharge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and race car driving and was a member of the Southwestern Trapshooting club in Silver City. He loved serving the Lord in any way he could at Tyrone Community Church for many years, and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial service held at Terrazas Funeral Chapels and inurnment with full military honors at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.
