Doris Lee Howard was born at the home of her grandparents in Buffalo, Oklahoma on September 3, 1928 to Isreal Lee and Pearl (Leslie) Adams. Doris Lee went home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by family on March 16, 2022 in Buffalo, Oklahoma. Doris Lee attended Union Center Country School and graduated from Buffalo High School where she won numerous 4-H Dress Revues. Doris Lee was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Wallace Howard on August 25, 1946 at the Pleasant Valley Church. Doris Lee and Wallace shared 67 wonderful years together and were blessed with three daughters Wallecia, Kandy, and Cynthia. Doris Lee had a style of her own! She loved Wallace, diamonds, high heels, long fingernails, and White Diamonds perfume! After her three daughters were born she devoted her life to them and sewing all of their clothes including three beautiful wedding gowns. Doris Lee and Wallace made their home on the "Flying W Ranch" in Selman until they retired from farming and moved to Woodward in 1985 where they found more time to enjoy traveling, Dance Club, and spending time together. As a couple they were extremely active in Oklahoma Farm Bureau where they were named the Oklahoma Farm Family of the Year in 1967 and awarded for Distinguished Service to Agriculture in 2010. They were also instrumental in the Harper County Rural Water Association where she served as Bookkeeper for 35 years and was awarded the Oklahoma Rural Water Bookkeeper of the Year in 2000. Doris Lee served in numerous offices on the State Board of Oklahoma Cowbelles (now Cattlewomen), Oklahoma Farm Bureau State Women's Committee, State Board of Oklahoma Garden Clubs, Harper County Merry Workers Extension Homemakers Club (where she won Homemaker of the Year in 1978), Violet Garden Club, Harper County Farm Bureau, Northwest Oklahoma Cowbelles, and Gamma Federated Club. Doris Lee was also a dedicated member of the First Christian Church of Buffalo and later the FIrst Christian Church of Woodward. After Wallace became ill, she devoted her life to taking care of him until his passing in 2015. Their love for each other never failed. Doris Lee was proceeded in death by her husband Wallace, her parents Lee and Pearl Adams, son-in-law J.R. Storer, and granddaughter Sunni Ray Storer.
