Omar Herlindo Acevedo De Paz, 43, died Thursday May 5, 2022 in Oakley, Kansas. He was born March 4, 1979 in Zacapa, Guatemala, the son of Rudelio Acevedo Salguero and Adela De Paz De Paz.

Omar grew up and attended schools in Guatemala. He and his wife met and married in Guatemala. They moved to Garden City in 2000. He was a hard worker, willing to put in the time and energy to make sure his wife and two sons, Kender and Omar were well taken care of. The majority of his employment was as a driller in the Oil Rigs. He was a joyful soul and knew how to enjoy a celebration to the fullest. He enjoyed listening to music, visiting with family and cheering on his favorite soccer team, Real Madrid.

Survivors include his Wife of the home; Sons-Kender and Omar Acevedo; Parents- Rudelio Acevedo Salguero and Adela De Paz De Paz; Siblings-Edwin Acevedo, Wilder Acevedo, Sucely Acevedo; numerous Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and other extended family.

Visitation will be held Sunday May 8 from 12:00 – 8:00 pm & Monday May 9 from 1:00 – 8:00. The Rosary will be held at 5:00 pm also on Monday May 9, all at Garnand Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday May 10 at 10:00 am at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant and broadcast live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
