Annie "Cassie" Douglas Adams, 94, of New Kent, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 22, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Adams Sr.; and two of her daughters, Janice Adams Gammon and Catherine Adams McMillan. She is loved and survived by her sons, Billy (Billie Gail) Douglas and Bubba (Debbie) Adams; and her daughters, Sissie (Stanley) Moore and Monk (Bo) Gibbs; son-in-law, Bobby McMillan; foster son, Everett Linenberger; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; one sister, Lou Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and special friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (today) at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church.
