Carol Lynne Akins, 59, of Taylorsville, died on Monday, the 23rd day of May, 2022, at Baptist Health Louisville. Born in Shelbyville on the 11th day of June in 1962, she was the daughter of Tommie Akins and the late Mary Yvonne Hardin Akins. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and a computer programmer at Humana in Louisville. Reading was her pastime of choice. Civically aware, she was a very generous person and contributed to numerous charities. The beach was her favorite destination and she will be remembered for the many trips and vacations she planned for her entire family.
Her survivors include her father, Tommie Akins of Taylorsville; her sister, Cheryl Riney and her husband, Chris, of Carrollton; her brothers, Wayne Akins and his wife, Donna, of Canton, Georgia, and Robert Akins and his wife, Michele, of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, the 28th day of May, 2022, at the All Saints Catholic Church in Taylorsville, with the Reverend Brandon T. DeToma and the Reverend Scott J. Wimsett concelebrating. Interment will be in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville.
