DURANT -- Services for Della Mae Kent, 99, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Shrave officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Born Aug. 5, 1900, at Milburn, she died May 19, 2000, at a local health care facility. She married Calvin D. Kent April 21, 1918, at Horsecreek Bridge in Johnston County. He preceded her in death in October 1967. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Melvin R. Kent, November 1993 and Winfred Kent, 1925; and one grandson.
A lifelong resident of Bryan County, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Kent was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jerry W. Kent, Stephenville, Texas; daughters, Wyndol Payne, Ardmore, Lahoma Hendricks, Kenefic, Arvella Abbott, Colbert, Christine Burchett, Ardmore, and Jeanie Cole, Willis Point, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Craig Cathey, Ron Smith, Vance Cole, Kevin Duncan, Dwayne Kent and Arlyn Hendricks.
Visitation is 3 to 4 p.m. today at Murray Funeral Home.
