James Edward Adair, 78, of Bolivar, passed from this life Wed., November 30, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

He was born in Nashville to the late Joe Thompson and Oneeta Morris Adair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Rodney Adair. On April 17, 1989, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Jackson, who survives. The Adair's moved to Phyllis' hometown, Bolivar, in 1990 and lived here thirty years before moving to Arlington, TN.

Mr. Adair was a licensed hearing aid agent and had been owner/operator of Adair Transportation. He also had worked in the music publishing business, while in Nashville, with Elwood & The Co-Writers and was a great lover of country music. Jim enjoyed playing the guitar and, in younger years, liked playing golf, fishing and hunting. He was also an avid history buff. He attended Hebron Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, Phyllis Adair of Bolivar, he leaves three daughters, Sherry (Mark) Hendrix of Horn Lake, MS, Ann (Scotty) Grant, also of Horn Lake and, Jan (Johnny) Lucius of New Albany, MS; three sons, Andy Adair of Horn Lake, Scott (Lauren) Edwards of Arlington and, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Edwards of Spokane, WA; nine grandchildren, Nathan and Dalton Grant, Kayla Kiser, Ryan Lucius, Christian, Ethan, Isabella Anne, Sophia Kay and Wyatt Edwards; and a great-grandson, Nolan Hayes Kiser.
