Delbert was born on July 17, 1944 in Sterling, Colorado. He was a gift of God to his parents, Brune Aden and Katherine Johanna Ewers Aden Claver. On August 13, 1944 he was born again as a chosen and redeemed child of God in Holy Baptism. He was instructed in the Christian faith and publicly confirmed the covenant of Holy Baptism on March 22, 1959.

Services for Delbert will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tyler with Rev. John Scheusner officiating. Burial will be on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

He grew up in the Akron, Colorado area and graduated from Akron High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army in NATO from 1965 to 1967. He attended the National Electrics Institute in Denver, Colorado and graduated in 1969. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad after graduation until September 1973. From 1973 until 2000 he worked for the State of Colorado as a Principal Electronic Specialist. He later became a General Contractor and due to health concerns retired in 2009.

Delbert met Nioma Faye Storlie on Labor Day weekend 1971 and they were married Labor Day weekend 1972. They were blessed with two sons, Pete in 1976 and Adam in 1981. They were blessed again with two daughters-in-law, Jessica in 1997 and Bridgette in 2010. Delbert and Nioma celebrated 50 years of marriage this September. He loved his family dearly.

Delbert and Nioma lived in North Platte, Nebraska the first year they were married and moved to Craig, Colorado in 1973. In 1984 the family moved to Sterling, Colorado and resided there until moving to Tyler, Texas in 2016. Delbert felt wonderfully blessed to live his last six years in Tyler.

Delbert was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod since his baptism. Over the years he was honored to serve in several positions including Trustee, Property Board, Elder, Evangelism, Stewardship, Usher, Trinity Disaster Response Team, and Sunday School teacher in the various churches he attended. He felt so very blessed and thankful this past month by all the prayer warriors!

Tie collecting was his favorite hobby next to wearing the ties he collected. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and movies. He was an avid Fox News follower.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Clarice Spear and Doris Johnson and his in-laws, Pete and Eva Storlie. He is survived by his wife Nioma; sons, Pete and wife Jessica and Adam and wife Bridgette; brother-in-law, Harold Johnson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rocky and Deb Storlie; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews; and special friends who he counted as family including Marcos and Julia Jimenz, Tammy and Randall Boehme along with Mr. Noodle, Marc, Megan, Emery, and Eli Wolf; and his forever family at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Delbert was called to his eternal rest in Jesus on December 8, 2022 at the Hospice Home Place of East Texas attended by his wife and caring staff after a long struggle with lung issues. He was seventy-eight years old.
