A funeral service in her honor will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938. Reverend Charles Stodden will officiate. A committal service will immediately follow at Drummond Cemetery, Neoga, IL. The visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2022, at the funeral home.
Daisy was born on May 12, 1929, to the late John and Bertha Mabel (Fulton) Abbott. She married Clifford Dean Greenwood on December 21, 1949, in Mattoon, IL; he preceded her in death on March 16, 1989.
She is survived by six children: Neva L. Little of Mattoon, IL, C. Michael Greenwood and wife Beth of Ashmore, IL, Nancy E. Brown of Hindsboro, IL, James L. Greenwood of Mattoon, IL, David M. Greenwood and wife Debbie of Lerna, IL, Gary L. Greenwood and significant other Georgia Goolsby of Edwardsville, IL; eight grandchildren: Joe M. Greenwood, Justin M. Greenwood, Jeff A. Little, Jessica D. Bradford, Julia J. Greenwood, Jonna B. Little, Jared D. Greenwood and wife Kathy, Brittany C. Mitchell; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother; and one step-son.
Daisy was a loving homemaker and mother of six whose life was centered on raising her family. She loved drawing, reading and writing poetry, and can be seen on YouTube sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through her music. She had a passion for helping others who were less fortunate, and eagerly volunteered her time to Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Mattoon, IL.
Camping, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and friends brought Daisy much joy. The cherished memories and unconditional love she left behind will forever be engraved in the hearts of her loved ones.
