Nelwyn was a graduate of Oakridge highschool class of 1941, where she graduated valedictorian of her class. She was on the basketball and softball teams, and selected to be on the All World Softball Team of 1952 for Toronto, Canada. She was also nominated and selected into the Sr. Hall of Fame.
Nelwyn was a member of 1st Methodist church.
She was survived by her lifelong friend, Barbara Sevier; sister, Jacqueline Greer Aanenson; nieces, Vicky Murphy and Deborah Pyers; and nephew, Jerry Aanenson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Crawford D. and Lena Pearl Greer.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks funeral home on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 7pm-9pm and will resume on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 10AM until funeral service conducted by Chris Andrews at 12PM.
Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
