Son of King Kahekili II and high chiefess of the Kaiuli ohana alii of Kaupō. Last independent ruler of Oahu, perhaps Maui for a short time.

The closest relatives of this King surviving today are via Kalanikupule's maternal half brother, high chief of Lahaina, Aarona Unauna, founder of the royal House of Unauna.
