Charlotte "Rose" Aarness of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Ernestine Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka. Charlotte was born on July 5, 1924 to the late Walter & Elsie (Kallies) Gable. Charlotte was a lifetime resident of the area.
On May 27, 1967, in Jones, Michigan she married Earl Aarness, and they enjoyed 39 years of marriage until his passing in 2006.
Charlotte enjoyed playing Skipbo, crafting, cleaning, reading, and watching anything on My Michiana TV. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, VFW Post #360 Ladies Auxilary, and Sons of Norway.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter Kim (Bryan) Stroes of Wellington, FL, sons Robert (Barbara) Wells of South Bend, IN, and Bill Wells of Osceola, IN. Eight grandchildren; Brian Wells, David Wells, Lindi Drufke, Jacob Wells, Heather Hyduk, Halie Stroes, Zachary & Mitchell Stroes. And several Nieces and nephews.
Also, preceding her in death are three sisters; Dorothy Rummell, Dawn Smith, Barbara Granger.
Funeral services for Charlotte will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1021 Manchester Dr., South Bend, IN 46615. Graveside services will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the morning.
