Services for Dallas H. Abbitt, 64, of 4105 14th Ave, Rock Island, who died at 7 Tuesday night in an Elgin hospital will be at 2 tomorrow afternoon in Primm-Sullivan Chapel, East Moline.

The Rev. David Goodwin, pastor of the Watertown Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Friends may call at the funeral home this evening until time of services.

Mr. Abbitt was born Sept 12, 1893, in Brownfield, Ill, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Abbitt. He worked for the Illinois Central Rail Road and International Harvester, East Moline, for five years.

He married Sophia Jennings Feb 7, 1917, in Brownfield. He came to East Moline in 1943 from Creal Springs, Ill. He was a veteran of World War I and had been a member of East Moline American Legion Post. He lived in Rock Island several years.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Calvin D., Rock Island, James W, Carbon Cliff; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Taylor, Rock Island; and four brothers, F.O. Abbitt, Hampton, Luther Abbitt, East Moline, Wayne Abbitt, Elgin, Ray, Dundee; six sisters, Mrs. Maude McMurran, Norfold, Va, Mrs. Daisy Jackson, Napa, Calif, Mrs. Beatrice Nichols, Dryden, Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Myrtle Harman, Dunedin, Fla, Mrs. Ruth Ihrke, Denver, Colo, and Mrs. George Bradley, Norfolk, Va; and several grandchildren.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
