James "Tom" Thomas Abner, Jr., 56 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at his home. Tom was born Tuesday, March 29, 1966, in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late James Thomas Abner, Sr. and the late Wanda Lou (Polston) Abner.

Tom was a loving son, brother, father, Pa, uncle, and friend. He loved the Lord and attended Cookeville First Church of God. He loved to work on cars, was a great mechanic and he loved to ride motorcycles. Tom was known to be a protector and made sure he always knew what was going on around him. He loved his family and his children, grandchildren, and sister Ann were his world. Tom was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister: Tonya Moore; paternal grandparents: Otto and Lillie (Henley) Abner.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, April 2nd from the Cookeville First Church of God with Pastor Cameron Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the West Cemetery in the Bangham Community.
