Dorthy Pearl Bass, 70, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Ms. Bass was born on October 24, 1943, in Portageville, MO, to the late Carl and Neta B. (James) Watson. She was a member of Highland Drive Church of Christ, and she was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and her pet dog, and watching TV. Survivors include her two daughters, Neta Michelle (Ward) Wyatt (Tim) of Stoneville, North Carolina, and Angela Clyburn (Tony) of Mill Springs, seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Hillary, Bobby Ray, Rachael, Dalton, Dakota and CJ, a great grandchild, Jaden, two sisters, Patsy Myers of Poplar Bluff and Louise Perry of Bella Vista, AR, a brother, Thomas Gene Watson of Troy, IL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carl Gilbert and Jonnie Carl Watson, and a sister, Virginia Kay. The family received friends at Cotrell Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 9, from 6 -- 8, and a funeral service took place Thursday, July 10, at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service followed the funeral service at Myrtle Cemetery in Myrtle, MO with Mr. Vernon Curry officiating. Cotrell funeral Service of Poplar Bluff, MO is in charge of arrangements.
