Serita Abatte Auzenne, 94, was called home on Saturday, May 27, 2023. The 3rd child of 10, she was born in New Iberia, LA on September 28, 1928, to Stella and Gabriel Abatte. She married the love of her life, Raymond Auzenne, in 1949. They moved to Houston days after their wedding, to pursue better opportunities for the family they would have. To this union, 5 children were born. Serita enjoyed baking, cake decorating, dancing and music while loving and caring for her family.
Serita was proceeded in death by her husband. She is survived by her children: Murvin, Wayne (Celia), Serita Mary, Gerard (Martha), Derwin (Teresa); multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; her sister Irene, and nieces and nephews.
Serita's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the St. Dominic Village chapel, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX. Viewing will begin at 8:30 AM, with a rosary at 9:00 AM. Father Michael Corrigan will officiate a Catholic Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. You are invited to a repast afterwards at St. Dominic Village.
