Mrs. Gladys Jones Collie, 75, wife of James Harold Collie, Sr. died Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Lynchburg General Hospital. The daughter of Willie Thomas "Slick" and Ruth Rickman Jones, Mrs. Collie was native to Charlotte County and graduated from Randolph Henry High School. A homemaker, she also worked for Burlington Industries for 25 years. Funeral services will be 2PM Monday at Public Fork Christian Church, of which she was a member, with Denis Fritz and Billy Smithwick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In addition to her husband of 59 years, Mrs. Collie is survived by daughters, Dale Love, Phyllis Smiley and Paige Collie, all of Clarksville; Glenna Crews of Saxe and Christy Whirley of Red Oak. Also surviving are sisters, Jean J. Rutledge of Red Oak, Margaret J. Tuck of Keysville and Barbara J. Stembridge of Chase City; brother, C.D. Jones of Chase City, 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by son, J.H. Collie, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Williams, Frances Acors, and brother, James Jones. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Sunday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home
