Bill graduated from Calhoun High School in 1955 and two weeks later left for the United States Army where he served three years, two of them in Okinawa Japan. After returning home he went to Cincinnati, Ohio where an uncle found him a job in a factory. After two months Bill took the Civil Service exam and began working for the United States Postal Service. Retiring after 34 years as the Personnel Manager of the Cincinnati Post Office.

Bill and Lee made their home in Miamitown Ohio where he taught Sunday School for 40 years and was a dynamic force in the Gideons. Bill took Bibles all over the world and to Africa four times with his high school friend Gale Wetzel.

Bill was a Scoutmaster and his sons Eagle Scouts. Bill traveled to Africa, Ireland and China playing golf with friends as well as Hawaii, Alaska and all over the USA.

Bill became an Auctioneer in his retirement, and enjoyed doing so for his Church and the Post Office.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Wife Lee, two sons Ronald and Bill Jr. and two brothers Terry and Darrell.
