Funeral services for Josephine Catherine Abbott will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Callahan Edfast Mortuary chapel with the Rev. A.J. Bertrand officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery on Orchard Mesa.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Abbott of 1723 N. 17th St. died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness. She was 72.
She was born May 13, 1915, in Cardiff, to Dominick and Madeline DeVito Mattie. She remained in Cardiff until 1927 when she moved to Grand Junction. She attended Grand Junction area schools.
She married Herbert Frank Abbott on Oct. 5, 1935, in Grand Junction. He died Oct. 27, 1984.
Mrs. Abbott was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoors.
She was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include a brother, John Mattie of Grand Junction; a sister, Marie Longo of Stanwood, Wash; and numerous nieces and nephews.
