Garry Dean Adams, 73 of Lakin died Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. He was born December 10, 1940 in Lakin the son of Raymond "Spike" & Irene (Henderson) Adams. Garry graduated from Lakin High School in 1958. After his graduation, he married Meredith Ann Gross with whom he had three sons. Garry later married Cathy Louise McNeely in 1981. Garry farmed for many years west of Lakin and later went to work for Irsik and Doll Feedyard (Beefland) where he retired after 15 years. After his retirement he went back to work for the Kearny County Museum. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking and ministering to others. Survivors include three sons Kyle & wife Wendy Adams of Virginia Beach, Va., Kent & wife Carrie Adams of Fort Worth, Tx., and Kray & wife Jenney Adams of Lakin, Ks.; a step-daughter Dana & husband Chuck Lane of Lakin, Ks.; a twin brother Larry & wife Mariann Adams of Sedgwick, Ks.; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Garry is preceded in death by his wife, Cathy who died in 1999. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Chester Bruce Adams.
