John lived a full and happy life. He will be remembered by friends and family as a hard worker with a sharp mind, quick wry wit, and a willingness to help others. He lived nearly all of his life in his favorite place on earth, Marston's Mills and had many fascinating stories about the early days in the village.
Outside of work John was very social. He loved to spend time with his family and friends at his camp in Vermont, teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt and drive ATV's, regaling them with crazy tales of his adventurous younger days, but always encouraging them to be responsible, honest, have fun, and use Yankee Ingenuity to solve their problems. John enjoyed being a sought- out role model and mentor for his grandchildren and many other young people starting out in construction trades.
