Author, Screenwriter, Film Director. He is best known for his work on "Distant Voices, Still Lives" (1988), "The Long Day Closes" (1992), "The House of Mirth" (2000) and "Of Time and the City" (2008). After leaving Liverpool, he attended the Coventry Drama School, where he wrote the screenplay for the short film "Children" (1976). It was his first autobiographical short film. Afterward, he attended the National Film School in Buckinghamshire. During his time there, he worked on "Madonna and Child" (1980) and "Death and Transfiguration" (1983). These three films became known as The Terence Davies Trilogy and were screened together in European and North American film festivals. Furthermore, he later worked on feature-length films, including "The Neon Bible" (1995), "The Deep Blue Sea" (2011), "Sunset Song" (2015), and "Benediction" (2021). Aside from filmmaking, Davies also wrote the books "Hallelujah Now" (1984) and "A Modest Pageant" (1992).
