A couple of years later, he went on to direct his first studio film, "Stepfather 2" (1989). Despite the film's poor reception, he went on to direct "Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3" (1990) after receiving an offer from New Line Cinema. Furthermore, he later directed "Eddie Presley" (1992), "Puppet Master 4" (1993), "Puppet Master 5" (1994), "Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings" (1994), "Night of the Scarecrow" (1995), "The Boy With X-Ray Eyes" (1999) and "Straight Into Darkness" (2004). He died from stroke complications.
