Morrill - A funeral for Nellie R. Young, 85, of Morrill, who died Sunday in a Gering care facility, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday in United Methodist Church at Morrill, with the Rev. Calvin Leeds officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Morrill.

Nellie was born June 29, 1899, at Hemingford, where she received her early education. She married George Young Jan. 6, 1919, at Alliance, and they made their home in the Hemingford area. They moved to the Morrill area in 1930, and into Morrill in 1944. The past three months, she has been a patient at Northfield Villa Medical Center at Gering. She was a member of the church and WSCS and church circles. She was also a 50-year member of the Morrill Rebekah Lodge, and a member of the Pleasant Grove Project Club.

Survivors include her sons, Clyde, Willis, Willard, Howard, and a daughter Alice. She is also survived by her brother Dale. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorials have been established to the Panhandle Cancer Fund and the church. Jones Mortuary at Mitchell is in charge of arrangements.
