Larry was born 8th child to Ernal Ross and Opal Lenora Wiedenkofer Athon. He was married to Carol Frances Saner and to this marriage was born three sons Larry Douglas, Darrel Dean, and David Ross Athon. He had 8 grandchildren of which 7 are living and several great grandchildren. He was the last of his siblings and first cousins on both sides of his family. Larry's mother had always said he was born on the 8th and he celebrated on that date. When he went to get his birth certificate it had the 9th on it. He tried to argue with them on it and said my mom said the 8th and she ought to know.
