She was born in Gloversville on May 1, 1941, a daughter of Alfred and Martha Dingman Foster and was educated locally.
Mrs. Wilson worked at the former Diana Knitting Mill, Coleco Industries, and later at Somerset Industries.
She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, cooking, baking, coloring, and crocheting special things for her loved ones.
Carolyn was married to the love of her life, Douglas L. Wilson, on January 12, 1960. Sadly, he died on March 17, 2018. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred Foster, Jr. and Charles Foster; a sister, Betty Crowter; and a special niece, Oceanmarie Foster.
Survivors include six sons, Douglas (Lindsay) Wilson, Gordon Wilson, Charles Wilson, Jamie Wilson, Daniel (Cherice) Wilson, and John (Laura) Wilson, all of Gloversville; three daughters, Mary Wilson and Tammy Wilson, both of Gloversville, and Debra Wilson of Troy; three sisters, Shirley Foster, Terry Lee Foster, and Elizabeth Foz, all of Gloversville; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, goddaughter, and her namesake, Carol Vosburgh.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown from 4 – 5:30pm. A time for memory sharing will follow at 5:30 pm. The burial will take place in the spring at the Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery.
