Armstrong, Nellie A., age 95, of East Chicago, passed away Saturday, February 24, 1990. Survivors: two granddaughters, Sherry (Charles) Pearson of Culver, Indiana and Sandra (Leonard) Beyer of Schererville; four great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 26, at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery Chapel, Hammond, with Rev. Edward Olson officiating. Burial Elmwood Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation.
Nellie was the daughter of Oscar Bailey Abbett and Nancy Jane Obenchain Abbett. She was born in Jasper County, Indiana.
She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Willard Ray Abbett and Howard Guy Abbett, three sisters, Edna Josephine Halligan, Lena Dell Constant, and Ora Belle Linman.
She married Clyde Armstrong 22 February 1916. They had one son, Clyde Armstrong.
