Record Producer, Musician, Singer-Songwriter. He is best remembered for his contributions to the bands Enchantment and Parliament. He began studying music as a teenager and continued to do so at Wayne County Community College, Oakland Community College, and Oakland University. However, he left the latter in order to tour full-time with Enchantment. He later worked with Prince, Maxwell, Was (Not Was), Moodymann, Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies, Corinne Bailey Rae, Stephanie McKay, and George Clinton. He also introduced J Dilla to Q-Tip, a member of the hip-hop band A Tribe Called Quest. Under the name Mr. Fiddler, he released the 1990 album "With Respect." In March 2004, he released the album, "Waltz of a Ghetto Fly," under the name Amp Fiddler. In 2020, he received a fellowship from the Kresge Foundation. In 2021, his final album, "Basementality," was released. He died from surgery complications.
