On Tuesday January 30th, 2024, in his infinite mercy, our Lord Jesus Christ called Kathryn LuAnne Prather Barnard "Bebe" from this earth to take her rightful place in his heavenly kingdom. The family by Kathryn's side, shrouded her with love, beautiful memories and heartfelt goodbyes.

Kathryn (Bebe) Barnard was born August 6th, 1962, to Charles and Kay Prather in Austin, TX. A graduate of Del Valle High School, Kathryn lived a fruitful and active life from the start. She attended cosmetology school, participated in 4-H and was a city bowling champion. Prior to a career shift, she worked for several years at Temple Inland, and found success entering a leadership role with the company. Given her caring and nurturing self, Kathryn found her way back to school with an ambition to enter healthcare. For over a decade, Bebe devoted her life to those that needed hope the most... her patients.

Her unwavering devotion to humanity was keenly seen in her motherly instincts. She cared for all that entered her home seeking shelter, love, satiety and a warm heart. No one would she turn away. She led a path of simplicity because her family was the cornerstone in her life. Bebe began her motherhood at 18, raising 3 children all the way to guiding and caring for 3 of her grandchildren. Her life's mission was her family, and they were the center of her universe.

These attributes crafted Bebe into the beautiful angelic human being she was.

If one were to have met Kathryn, they would have instantly found her personality so magnetic it was irresistible. She had a charming smile and a reassuring laughter. Bebe loved to throw a joke or two and had the fun charisma to playfully scare those in her family. For those that were ever hungry... fear not! Bebe had you covered with her famous southern pork chops and fried chicken! She always made sure those she protected, near and far were fed a proper meal. If you asked or even mentioned the word "gambling trip" ... you had a partner! Not only did Bebe love trips, but also a good tune! Whether it be 70's or 80s classic rock, Bebe had no qualms singing loudly, proudly, and.... two-stepin' it on the dance floor with her husband Bart of 42 years. That stepin' ultimately led them to winning several dances competitions.

She will be missed.

Kathryn was preceded in death by Charles Larry Prather (father) and is survived by Kay Prather (mother), Bart Barnard (husband), Brandon Barnard (son), Chris Estrada (son-in-law), Kolt Barnard (son), Kase Barnard (son), and her 5 grandchildren, Hayden Barnard, Konstance Barnard, Kolani Barnard, Gabriel Morgan, and Axl Barnard. Her sisters and brother, Kathy Prather, Darell Prather, Karol Magee, Larri Kay Hammons and Holly Prather and nieces and nephews.
