Anna Ambrosek Buried Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ambrosek, 72, were held in ZCBJ hall Monday forenoon, and the remains were buried by the side of the grave of her husband, who died here about 15 years ago. Mrs. Ambrosek died at her farm home near Scio May 19 following an illness of one month. She was a member of the Scio ZCBJ lodge. At the rites here May 19, G. L. Sutherland spoke in English and Ed Rubesh in Czech. Pallbearers were Joe Bartu, Joe Boyanovsky, John Jiroch, Joe Patrny, V. Prokop and Frank Sokolik. Mrs. John Fredrick, Mrs. Max Wesely and Ed Rubesh sang.
Mrs. Ambrosek was born in Czechoslovakia March 12, 1866, but had spent most of her life in the United States. The family resided in the Scio area about 45 years. Survivors include the sons Joe and Ed Ambrosek, Scio and Andrew Ambrosek, Nebraska. Daughters are Mrs. Ann Fredenthal, Portland, and Mrs. Milly Smith, Marshfield.

Lived Near Scio for More Than 30 Years; Born in Old Country
Riverview-Funeral rites were held for Anna Ambrosek at the ZCBJ lodge hall Monday morning, with services read by George Sutherland in English and Ed Rubesh in Czechoslovakian. Music and singing was by the ZCBJ choir.
Anna Ulrich was born March 12, 1866 in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States in 1880 with her parents and brother Vencel and sister Mary. The family settled near Plane, Nebr., where on December 23, 1881, she was married to Josef Ambrosek. To this union seven children were born. She, with her family came to Oregon in 1902, settled east of Scio, returning to the middle west in 1907 for a stay of two years when again she came to Oregon, settling on the farm east of Scio where she spent the remainder of her life. Her husband died 14 years ago. She became a member of the Scio ZCBJ lodge, a Czechoslavian organization, 32 years ago.
N. C. Lowe mortuary had charge of the funeral and Josef Patrny and Joe Bartu, Vencel Prokop, Joe Boyanovsky, John Jirok and Mr. Sokolik were pall bearers.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Andrew, Benkleman, Nebr.; Mrs. Anna Fredenthal, Portland; Mrs. Milly Smith, Marshfield; Joe and Edward, Scio; also six grandchildren, Gerald Ambrosek, Benkleman; Edith Smith, Marshfield; Everett, George, Kathleen and Gordon Ambrosek, Scio. She was buried in the Masonic cemetery near Scio
