On 16 Sep. 1965 she married widower Herman Valter Abbott.
Funeral for Mrs. Ethel Phillips Abbott, 74, of Empire, who died Wednesday, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Canaan Baptist Church with burial in adjoining cemetery, Bell directing.
A Blount County native, Mrs. Abbott lived in Walker County most of her life and was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.
