On May 28, 2023, Justin Hardman Abare passed away at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, a Community Hospice facility, in St. Augustine, Florida, after a long illness. He was surrounded by members of his family and nurses and staff. He was 44 years old.

Justin was born September 1, 1978, at Flagler Hospital. He spent his entire life in St. Augustine, where he attended R. B. Hunt Elementary School, Sebastian Middle School, and St. Augustine High School. He also took classes at Flagler College.

Justin worked at Flagler College in the Audio-Visual Department. He showed great enthusiasm for his work, and he enjoyed interacting with faculty, staff, and students at the College.

Justin was a talented musician, who wrote music, played a bass guitar, and started a band that he formed. The name of his band was No Comply. He and his band played before live audiences and recorded their music and sold records, tapes, and CDs around the world.

Justin loved all kinds of music, and he amassed quite a collection of vinyl records, tapes, and CDs of recording artists with a wide variety of genres, including hard rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, hip hop, punk rock, and rap. From time to time, he worked as a DJ and loved entertaining guests at parties, activities, and special events.

Justin was an avid and accomplished skateboarder. He loved skateboarding with his friends and enjoyed the camaraderie with skateboarders everywhere he went. On one of his escapades, he and a couple of his closest friends traveled all the way to San Francisco just to skate and hangout with guys they knew.

Justin was good natured, friendly, and easy to get along with. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his contagious laughter among his friends.

Justin was preceded in death by his former girlfriend (Aubrey "Zoe" Lingren) and mother of their son, Maxwell Justin Abare. He is survived by his son, Max, his parents Bill and Susan Abare, his sister Kathy Abare, his brother Bill Abare III (Sabrina), his niece Julia Owensby, and his nephews Will and Mason Abare.

He is also survived by aunts Cary Taylor (Rick), Robin Abare, Carolyn Morazan (Charlie), uncles Hardman Jones and Kim Abare (Molly), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The love of Justin's life was his son, Max, whom he adored. Justin thoroughly enjoyed all the time he spent with Max, whether they were watching movies, listening to music, playing video games, preparing meals, or just hanging out.

Justin will be missed by his entire family and his many friends, fans, and followers.

A memorial service and celebration of Justin's life will be held at Memorial Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 29, at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow immediately after the service in the Fellowship Hall adjacent to the church, located at 32 Sevilla Street in St. Augustine, FL.
