"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 William "Bushie" Aaron, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 18, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Stilley Aaron; his son William "Billy" Aaron, Jr., and wife Shannon; his daughter Jennifer Aaron Hataway and husband Wes; His beloved grandchildren Will Aaron, Julia Aaron, Lindy Hataway, and Maggie Hataway. He is also survived by his brother John M. Aaron, Jr., and wife Janette; his sister-in-law Pat Stilley Romero and husband Johnie; his brother-in-law Michael Stilley and wife Debbie. He is preceded in death by his father John Millican Aaron, Sr., and his mother Ellen Rae Young Aaron. Bushie was born on October 6, 1946, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. After graduating from Natchitoches High School in 1964, he moved to Baton Rouge where he attended LSU, pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and earned a Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1969. He has been a practicing attorney and member of the Louisiana Bar Association since then. Throughout his career and until his passing, he maintained a private law practice. He also served as a Senior Special Assistant Parish Attorney for EBRP for over 20 years. He was an active member of the Central community in which he worked and resided. He was a faithful member of Zoar Baptist Church and Mike Howell's Sunday school class. He loved attending LSU basketball games, fishing in his lake, eating turtle soup at Stab's, joking with his friends, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. He was a generous man who quietly helped others whenever he could. He considered his greatest accomplishments to be his marriage to his beautiful wife and his children who he tried, unsuccessfully, to convince to go to dental school, but they become attorneys instead. Above all, he loved Jesus, his family and his precious dog Lucy. Visitation will be held at Zoar Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 21, from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. to be conducted by Reverend Dennis McAnally and Dr. Kevin Hand. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Wes Hataway, Will Aaron, Johnie Romero, Hunter Briley, Mike Stilley, Joe Stilley, John M. Aaron, III, and Eric Cloud. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
