Lucille May Abel was born June 30, 1920 in Seward, Nebraska to Leo Arthur and Martha Ethel (Wray) Welch and passed away on July 12, 2006 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 12 days. On June 27, 1936, Lucille was united in marriage to William Rue Abel at Seward, Nebraska. To this marriage three daughters were born, Ardyce, Connie and Doris. She lived in Milford, Texas and Horton, Kansas and then moved back to Seward in 2000. She worked as a cook at Southeast Community College in Milford and at Sundermann Homes in Seward.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Arthur and Martha Ethel (Wray) Welch, husband, William Speck Abel, brother, Forrest D. Welch, sister, Ruth Crawford, grandsons, Kirk Wade Oldaker, Ronald Rue Oldaker, granddaughter, Terri Lynn Oldaker, great-granddaughter, Kylee Jo Pfenning.

She is survived by her daughters and spouses, Ardyce and Donald Olson of Seward, Connie and Loyd Oldaker of Powhattan, KS, Doris and Richard Jones of Horton, KS, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Marvin Hollaway of Broken Arrow, OK, sister-in-law, Eunice Welch of California, cousins, Velma Imig, Susie Alley and Millie Foster of Seward, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
