She was a native of MS and was employed with Blue Bell Inc. for 13 years,and a member of the Second Sreet Church of Christ.
Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Ivey (Marcus) of Belmont, Glenda Williams (Wallace) of Dennis, Virginia Johnson, (James)of Belmont,Fredia Williford (Wesley) of Hodges, AL, Kathy Gober (Jerry) of Belmont; 14 grandchildren, and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; William Henry and "Ollie" Pearl McCreary Ables, her husband, Edgar Gilley one son, William "Eddie" Gilley a grandson Mark Ivey, a great granddaughter, Christian Bennett.
Services were Aug. 31, 1997 at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont, with Ron Deaton and Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial in Dennis Memory Gardens at Dennis, MS
