Enterprise Man Killed As Log Slips Off Car
ENTERPRISE (Special) Merle David Adrian, 39, was instantly killed shortly before noon Monday while loading logs for the Harris Pine Lumber Co. at Joseph.
While helping load the logs, one of the two hooks used at either end of the log to swing it onto the car, slipped off the log rolling on Adrian, crushing him.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Booth-Bollman Funeral Chapel, under the auspices of the Veterans Foreign Wars of which he was a member.
He was born Oct. 28. 1914 at Ross, Okla., the son of Harry and Rebecca Adrian. He married Gertrude Nicholas, March 11, 1945 at Phoenix, Ariz., and she with their five small children, Merle David, Mary Eileen. James Lee, Raymond Arthur and Warren Douglas survive. Other survivors are his mother, seven brothers and one sister, all living in'Arizona.
He was a veteran of World War II.
