MANSFIELD MIRROR, MARCH 15, 1917

Mrs. Lunda Goss died Saturday at the age of 36. She leaves six children, her mother, 3 brothers, a sister to mourn her departure. Her father, John Fred Morris, died when she was a little girl. The infant son was hardly 3 weeks old when its mother died. Mrs. Fred Thompson of Shenandoah, Iowa took the little babe home with her. They left Saturday night. Interment took place at the Newton cemetery Sunday before a large crowd. She is gone but not forgotten. Four of the children are with the grandmother, Mrs. M. A. Morris, and one boy works on the Barney fruit farm and is staying at John Johnsons.

Jacob Goss was raised by Edward Goss and his wife Minnie Francis Goss (she was a Goss, daughter of Jesse William Goss and Sarah Elizabeth Morris. He did go to Shenandoah, Iowa. The Thompsons are living right next door to them in the 1920 census and still living with Minnie (widowed) in the 1930 census. In Minnie's obituary, she still list Jacob has her son and he list her as his mother in his draft paper.
