JOHN ABBE RITES SCHEDULED FRIDAY

John Edward Abbe, 83, a resident of Corvallis for the past 62 years, passed away at a local hospital.
The son of John and Lilla Abbe, he was born March 22, 1877, at Bazine, Kansas. The family lived in Bazine for several years before moving to Rifle, Colorado, residing there for one year prior for living in Eugene for five years. He lived on a ranch in Lincoln County near Burnt Woods until the age of 21.
He was married to Diona Felton in Corvallis Sept. 14, 1903, and the couple have resided here since that time. For many years, Mr. Abbe was associated with George Brown in the livestock business. He was also in partnership with Harry Orner in the Sanitary Meat Market for many years.
Survivors include his wife two nieces and one cousin.
Funeral services will be held in the Mayflower Chapel of the DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles S. Neville officiating. Interment will follow at the Crystal Lake (Masonic)cemetery.
