Mr. Goodwin was born Sept. 25, 1911, in Beaulieu, Minn. He attended school near Mahnomen, Minn. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps near Waubun and in Grand Portage, Minn.
On Sept. 12, 1936, he married Verle Oppegard Turner in Fosston, Minn. They lived in Beaulieu before moving to Nett Lake, Minn. He was a construction worker in Minnesota, North Dakota, Kansas, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. He worked building air bases in Alaska during World War II. He retired near Bagley, Minn., and Bemidji, Minn. In 1995 he moved to Waubun.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Albert Jr. (Ramona), Waubun, Bruce (Wanda), Andover, Minn., David (Shelly), Blaine, Minn., Mark, Bemidji; two daughters, Marlys (LeRoy) Bjergo, Anoka, Minn., Nancy Pemberton, New Brighton, Minn.; two brothers, Frank (Delores), El Paso, Wis., Ervin, Minneapolis; two sisters, Ada (Jack) Engberg, Williston, N.D., Bertha Stinson, Columbia Heights, Minn.; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Today from 2 to 8, with a prayer service at 4, in Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen.
Funeral: Monday at 10 in St. Anne's Catholic Church, Naytahwaush, Minn.
Burial: St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery, Naytahwaush.
