MRS. CARL ALLEN ALLARD
Della Lydia Welsenberger Allard was born February 28, 1906 in Lyman County, South Dakota, near Presho Daughter of John and Wilhemena Welsenberger, she was the fifth child of the family of nine. She spent her youth in the vicinity of Rosebud and Crookston.
On December 27, 1923, she was united in marriage to Carl Allen Allard by the Rev. Theodor Beur at Mission South Dakota. They made their home nine miles southwest of Long Valley.
Six children were born to this union.
She passed away on Wednesday, November 17th, at the age of 48 years, 8 months, and 17 days. Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Kate McDonald of Crookston, and Christinia Sherbourne of Wanbite, South Dakota.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Carl, her six children, June Rose Good, R.N., of Norris, South Dakota; Allen John Allard of Long Valley, South Dakota; Gene Andrew Allard of Long Valley, Cpl. Carl William Allard of the Armed Forces, A/3C Ernest Norman Allard of the Air Force, and Ardis Doreen Allard, residing at home; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jake Weisenberger of Fargo, North Dakota, and John Weisenberger of Hot Springs, South Dakota; four sisters, Mary Myers of Box Elder, South Dakota; Pauline Lindsey of Yakama, Washington; Emma King, R.N. of Richland, Washington, and Leona Hormel, R.N., of Portsmouth, Ohio, besides a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church at Valentine on November 24th, with the Rev. James K. Irwin in charge. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
