Ruby Rosalie Bowker, age 74 years, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2007, at Seward. She was born Dec. 22, 1932, near Malmo to Joe and Amelia (Thege) Vrana.
She was a graduate of Wahoo High School and the Nebraska Wesleyan University.
She majored in music and taught in Aurora and Lincoln Christian School.
In 1956, she married Larry Abker and two sons were born to this marriage, Kurtis and Steven. The marriage lasted 10 years.
In 1969, Ruby married Roger Bowker.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mildred Gustafson.
Survivors include her husband, Roger of Seward; sons Vince Bowker of Omaha, Rob (Reva) Bowker of Ceresco, Kurt Abker of Lincoln, Steve (Shelly) Abker of Ft. Smith, Ark.; daughters, Sue (Dan) Christenson of Holdrege and Norma Sheldon of South Bend, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; sister JoAnn (Dr. Ronald) Lyss of Moline,
