Drowned in Lilley Dam at Nellie creek. Atkins was making repairs on the dam when he fell into the water. Age 21 years. Only child of Marie Atkins and her first husband Harry Anderson. Eugene later adopted the last name Atkins after his mothers marriage to John Atkins. Attended school in Lake City, later Sacred Heart College in Denver.
