JAN 1949:Waterloo,IA: Asa S. PRATT elected commander of the Black Hawk Patrol 46 of the Mexican Border Veterans Evidently Pratt had served with General PERSHING in 1916-1917 when Iowa National Guardsmen were called to protect the Mexican Border & to pursue Mexican Raiders including Pancho VILLA who had attacked a U.S. Army Unit at Columbus, NM in 1916.

MAY 1954: Asa was elected Iowa State Commander of the Mexican Border Veterans.
