Rev. Clarence Archie Abbott, 79, of Madisonville, KY and formerly of Lake City, FL, died at 4:50 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. Born June 24, 1926 in Warren, WI to Archie Carlton Abbott and Lydia Louise Seflow. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Abbott and three sisters, Louise Payne, Ruth Abbott and Vivian Gibson. Rev. Abbott was a US Navy veteran of World War II receiving a medical discharge in May 1944 and re-enlisting in January 1947 in the US Army Air Corp and transferred to the US Air Force in September 1947 and was honorably discharged on May 2, 1951. He was a long distance truck driver retiring in June 1988. He formed a family gospel group call "Christ's Ambassadors", traveling and singing the Lord's music until his children went off the college. He was ordained in the Baptist faith September 1984 and served the Lord through-out the balance of his life. Surviving are three sons, Timothy Abbott of Durham, NC, Tracy Abbott and Tony Abbott, both of Lake City, FL; three grandsons and one granddaughter; two brothers, Bill Abbott of Milwaukee, WI and Donald Abbott of East Brunswick, NJ; three sisters, June of East Brunswick, Sylvia of Iowa, Betty Lou of Tomak, WI and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Private family services and burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West near Hopkinsville, KY.
