Anne Cook was the daughter of
Jabez Cook and Margaret Parton.

She married William Peck Abbott, son of
Philo Abbott and Adeline Nancy Chandler,
on July 21, 1898, in Arapahoe County, Colorado; they were married until his
death on November 29, 1929. The couple
had four children, namely:

Florence Mae (Abbott) Vickery (1899-1995),
Ruth A. (Abbott) [Dundas] Sohn (1901-1964),
Grace S. (Abbott) Bath (1904-1994), and
Jack W. Abbott (1905-1987).

She married James Monroe McShane, son
of James Madison McShane and Christine Elizabeth Goodwin, on April 6, 1941, in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming;
they were married until her death. The
couple had no children together.

On the 1940 Census, San Bernardino,
San Bernardino County, California,
James M. McShane, 61, was widowed.
On the 1940 Census, Cheyenne, Ann
Abbot [sic-Anne Abbott], 62 and widowed,
was the live-in housekeeper for Kenneth
Loer McShane, James' son. K. L. McShane,
32 and divorced, was shown as a surgeon.
Anne and James were married a year later.
When Anne died in 1952, her stepson,
Dr. McShane, signed the Medical
Certification on Anne's death certificate.

December 28, 1952:

"Funeral Held for Mrs. Anne McShane

Funeral services were held this afternoon
at the Schrader funeral chapel for Mrs. Anne McShane, a resident of Cheyenne for the past 27 years. The Rev. John M. Pattison officiated and burial was made in Lakeview.
Mrs. McShane died Friday at DePaul hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Laramie and was a member
of the Mizpah Chapter No. 6 of the OES and
of the U.P. Oldtimers club No. 1.
Surviving are her husband, J. M. McShane;
the following children, Mrs. I. M. [sic-N.] Vickery, Cheyenne; Mrs. Ruth Dundas,
Los Angeles; Mrs. Gerald Bath, Cheyenne;
Jack W. Abbott, Cowdrey, Colo.; [step-children,] Dr. K. L. McShane, Cheyenne;
Merle M. Estes, Cheyenne; a brother,
Frank Cook, Laramie; three sisters, Nan
Hey, Denver; Mrs. Becky Huckfeldt Boehler, Cheyenne; and Mrs. Nina Burnam, Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
Pallbearers were I. M. [sic-N.] Vickery,
Gerald E. Bath, Dr. K. L. McShane, Hillman Tebbs, James B. Baker, Kenneth Estes and
Jay Abbott."
