Mary Alice Abbott, 74, died at Gritman Hospital in Moscow, Idaho on Saturday. She was the mother of Eldon and Howard Abbott, both of Moscow.

Born Mary Alice Nelson in Lee County, Iowa on June 1, 1888, to John W. Nelson and Ella (Keith) Nelson. She moved with her parents in early childhood to Dallas, Iowa. She attended school there.

She married Roy E. Abbott on Oct. 17, 1906. The couple settled near Viola in 1920, where Mr. Abbott died in 1941.

At the time of his death, she made her home with her son, Eldon.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and Eastern Star Lodge.

Also, surviving is another son, Nelson of Brentwood, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
