Joseph Glenn "Pop" Brindle Jr.

Newton, N.C. - Joseph Glenn "Pop" Brindle Jr., 63, of Newton, went fishing in the Rivers of Heaven on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley.

Born April 11, 1945, in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of Louise Childers Brindle and the late Joseph Glenn Brindle Sr.

"Pop" was an avid fisherman and musician. He was a member of Balls Creek BassMasters, where he served as vice president for two years. He loved being involved with the Balls Creek Junior BassMasters.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rita Schott Brindle; sons, Joe Brindle and his wife, Tammy, of Newton and Rob Brindle and his wife, Terri, of Hickory; grandchildren, Danielle Brindle, Morgan Brindle, Tess Brindle and Todd Brindle; his mother, Louise Childers Brindle of Charlotte; brother, John Brindle and his wife, Sharon; sisters, Judy Strickland and her husband, Butch, Susan Trotter and her husband, Tim, and Kim Love and her husband, Ronnie; sisters-in-law, Gloria Kiker and her husband, Jimmy, Julie Bedard and Bo Taylor and Bobbi Lynn Baugher and her husband, John; brother-in-law, Bill McCarley and his wife, Lisa; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Steve Greene.
A celebration of "Pops'" life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Mountain View Baptist Church, 4266 River Road, Hickory.

Burial will follow in Southside Cemetery in Newton.

this a beautiful memorial but it is listed in the wrong cemetery!Joesph is actually at the Southside Cemetery in Newton(newton Southside cemetery)its an easy mistake to make because the newton ss cemetery is brand new and has less than 50 graves it was just listed in FAG
