Arthur K. Aarseth, 88, Minot, formerly of Carpio, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in a Minot hospital.

Arthur Kenneth Aarseth was born September 26, 1919, on the family farmstead near Carpio, ND, the son of John and Johanna (Rekkedahl) Aarseth. While growing up he helped on the family farm and attended school in the Carpio area.

Arthur married Theresa Dionne on November 3, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home on the family farm near Carpio, where he milked cows and farmed forever. He also drove school bus for Carpio School for 31 years and for Des Lacs/Burlington Schools for four years.

Arthur was a member of Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND. He served on the Mayland Township Board and on the Nazareth Lutheran Church Board. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Aerie, both in Minot. Art loved his family and the many kids he drove to and from school everyday. He also enjoyed his son's dog, Benji.

Those who shared in his life, Wife of 57 years, Theresa, Minot; sons, Jerry (Jill) Aarseth, Minot and their children, Lindsay and Courtney Aarseth; Larry (Diane) Aarseth, Minot and their children, Joey, Catey, Alex and Elizabeth Jorde; Terry Aarseth, Carpio and Perry Aarseth, Minot; sister, Kamilla Aarseth, Seattle, WA; nephew, Gary (Sonja) Condon, Seattle, WA.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin and sisters, Marvel and Mabel.

Funeral: Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND.

Visitation: Friday, September 19, 2008, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery, Carpio, ND.
