Funeral for Murvin “L.V.” Abbott, 73, of Town Creek will be Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Bro. Dewey Boston and Bro. Jeff Green officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Abbott died Monday, April 18, 2005, at his residence. He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Lawrence County to Ben and Dora Abbott. He retired as the owner and operator of Abbott’s Quick Stop in 1991. He served in the Army National Guard for 28 years.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie Davis Abbott; two stepsons, Tommy Parker of Town Creek and Michael Coan of Moulton; one stepdaughter, Tammy Monnot of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one brother, Junior Abbott of Moulton.

Pallbearers will be Perry Abbott, R.B. Abbott, Jimmy Ray Hood, Sammy Hall, John Cannon and Jeff Terry. Published in the Decatur Daily on Apr. 19, 2005
