Wathena Maria Allgood, 79, of Cape Girardeau died June 5, 2002 at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Dec. 29, 1922 in Dupo, IL, daughter of Avery Hamilton and Minnie Meissner Abernathy.
She married Waldo E. Allgood June 28, 1941 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death April 25, 1999.
Wathena was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a wife, mother, and grams, all her life. (Dearly loved and blessed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. We will miss you very much but we know that our Lord is rejoicing in your return home.)
Survivors include three daughters, Jan Holshouser and Tana McLaird of Cape Girardeau, MO; Marta Jones of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Bonnie McNeil of St. Louis, MO; Delores Lynn of Dearborn, MI; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO. A memorial service will be Friday at Liley Funeral Home, with Pastor Art Hunt officiating. Inurnment will be in Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO.
